Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Investigator to join a team of modelers and observationalists with extensive expertise in coupled air-sea-wave interactions and parameterizations. The projects aim to improve the representation of ocean and wave impacts in the ocean mixed layer, atmospheric boundary layer, and air-sea fluxes for the North Atlantic Ocean, using the SCOAR coupled ocean-atmosphere-wave model (https://hseo.whoi.edu/scoar-model). The project will also test a hierarchical representation of the ocean and wave-mediated processes in NASA’s Unified WRF (https://nuwrf.gsfc.nasa.gov)
The initial appointment will be for 1 year with a possible second-year continuation contingent on progress and funding. Qualified applicants must submit the application forms online. The documents should include a cover letter, CV, and contact information (only) of 3 references. Review of applications will begin April 1, 2022, and continue until the position is filled.
