Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is currently searching for a Licensed Electrician to join the Facilities department. This is a regular, full-time, non-exempt position and is eligible for benefits.
Reporting to the Electrical Shop Supervisor, the Licensed Electrican, performs a wide variety of electrical tasks in Institution buildings and on ships.
Non-Essential Functions:
Education: High school or vocational school plus 1 year training school or apprenticeship in electrical trades
Experience: 1 – 5 years
Certification/License: Massachusetts Electrician’s License
Effective Communication, Teamwork
Valid Massachusetts drivers license
Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

Physical tasks for this position include but are not limited to lifting 10 - 25 lbs. 20+ times per day; lifting 25 - 50 lbs. 3+ times per day; Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking; Kneeling, bending, stooping, twisting, climbing ladders/stools, use of hands for basic grasping / manipulation, use of hands for fine manipulation, and reaching (above and below shoulder). Other occupational requirements include talking, working around others, and with others. Physical duties are subject to change.
