Research Associate III – Physical oceanography and air-sea interaction
The position involves: (i) Making measurements of the upper ocean and atmosphere to assess air-sea exchange of heat and momentum, atmospheric structure, clouds, radiative effects, and ocean-atmosphere interaction, (ii) analysis of measurements, satellite, and reanalysis data sets, (iii) modeling, and (iv) dissemination of findings. Research offers scope to explore ocean submesoscale dynamics, boundary layers, internal waves, and requires participation in fieldwork. Knowledge of physical oceanography and atmospheric dynamics is desired. The research associate will play a key role in the design and execution of research and the interpretation of scientific results.
Participation in research cruises, data analysis.
Education: Ph.D.
Experience: 1-3 years postdoctoral experience
Knowledge of physical oceanography, atmospheric and oceanic boundary layers, and skills in data analysis.
Ability to work in the field, on ships, and at computers.
