Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is currently searching for a Security Guard to join the Facilities Department.This is a regular, half=-time, non-exempt position eligible for Benefits.
Under direct supervision, performs routine security checks during the night and on weekends throughout the entire Institution. Schedule can be any of the following shifts, every other weekend 8am-4pm and Weds 12am-8am.

Under direct supervision, performs routine security checks during the night and on weekends throughout the entire Institution. Schedule can be any of the following shifts, 4pm-12am and 12am-8am Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday the hours are 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am and 12am-8am. There is no set schedule they will be filling in vacation, sick, and port security hours.

Reporting to the appropriate Distribution Supervisor, the Senior Distribution Assistant provides assistance and support to a broad range of Institution operations and services. Duties may be concentrated in a particular area and/or across multiple service functions, in response to staffing and workload needs. General areas of operation include Building Services, Food Services, Receiving & Mail Services, and Shipping & Warehouse Services.

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is currently searching for a HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to join the Facilities Department. This is a regular, full-time, non-exempt position, and is eligible for full benefits.
Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing, inspecting, repairing, and installing all HVACR equipment and related facility process systems within a group of Institution buildings and laboratories to ensure safe and efficient scientific and administrative operations. Systems include HVAC, refrigeration, and chilled and hot water; maintains compliance with state/local building and heating/cooling codes and regulations. Through training and/or work experience, is skilled in HVACR, enabling the application of technical knowledge to perform assigned tasks.
The internal working titles for this position could be either Plant Mechanic or Sr. Plant Mechanic. The final level of the position will be determined commensurate with the selected candidate’s level of education & experience.

Under general direction from the Facilities Director, the Facilities Engineeror Sr. Facilities Engineer is responsible for implementing engineering solutions in a dynamic ocean research institution. This includes HVAC, mechanical systems, and activities surrounding construction or renovation projects for innovative scientists and ocean engineers. The successful applicant applies effective communication and construction management techniques to the planning, design, and implementation of assigned project(s) from conception to completion, controlling time and cost while ensuring a high level of quality. Responsibilities include scheduling and coordinating all design and construction processes: selecting, hiring, and overseeing specialty trade contractors; managing the project budget; coordinating and managing materials and equipment; reviewing contracts; and ensuring the safety of employees and the general public.
